What can you encode in a QR code?
QR codes can encode URLs, plain text, WiFi credentials, email addresses, phone numbers, and contact cards. This generator creates static QR codes that run entirely in your browser — no data is uploaded, and there are no watermarks.
Website URLs
Link to any webpage. Great for business cards and print materials.
WiFi credentials
Let guests connect by scanning — no typing the password.
Email addresses
Open a pre-addressed email compose window when scanned.
Plain text
Encode any text message, access codes or instructions.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use these QR codes commercially?
Yes. QR codes generated here are yours for any purpose — personal, business, or commercial. No watermarks, no attribution, no restrictions.
Do QR codes expire?
Static QR codes do not expire. The data is permanently embedded in the pattern. However if you encode a URL that later changes or is deleted, the code leads nowhere useful.
What size should I use for print?
Download at 500px or 800px for print. A QR code should be at least 2cm x 2cm physically for reliable scanning — larger is more reliable especially in low light.
How much data can a QR code hold?
Up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters. More data makes a denser, harder-to-scan code. Use a URL shortener for very long links.
